Tortillas De Miaz (Corn Tortillas)
1/2 cup shortening or margarine
3 cups waterCut shortening into flour until it resembles cornmeal. Add water 1/8 cup at a time or less until it forms a dry dough. If it is too moist, it will stick and not make tortillas. Roll into 1 inch balls, flatten by pressing between hands or using a tortilla press. Cook in a skillet using medium high heat. Turn over once to cook opposite side. Note: various brands of tortilla flour can be found in the Mexican food section of your grocery store.
